RoosterCrow2The Rogue River Rooster Crow Contest is a fun,RoosterCrow3 family event that began in 1953 and has been cock-a-doodle-dooing in Southern Oregon every summer since then.



RoosterCrow4The Rooster Crow has grown into aRoosterCrow7 weekend-long funfest that includes a parade down the city of Rogue River’s Main Street, an awesome classics and hot rods car show that has everything from ratrods to exotics, a run or walk along the Rogue River and the ever popular Rooster Crow Competition. In addition to crowing roosters, there is also the Human Crow Contest, where anyone with a proud cackle of their own can enter to win trophies and prizes.RoosterCrow5

RoosterCrow9On both weekend days the Cal-Ore River Racers rev up the excitement with their Rogue River Rooster Crow Hydroplane Boat Race, with time trials running on Saturday and the actual race on Sunday.RoosterCrow6

Live music for dancing or just plain listening enjoyment, a carnival of fun rides, arts & crafts displays, delicious food and vendor booths add to the good times of the Rogue River Rooster Crow weekend.

For over thirty years the Pottsville Museum in Merlin, Oregon has trac2hosted trac2the Pioneer Days Antique Engine and Tractor Show. This annual event has grown to become the largest antique tractor show and swap meet in Southern Oregon and Northern California, with more than 200 vendors offering everything from antique engine and tractor parts to early American arts & crafts.

trac1Pioneer Days is held on the Saturday and Sunday of Father's Day weekend in the middle of June, with the swap meet bringing sellers from from the west coast all the way to the east coast and everywhere in between. You may find vintage cast iron cookware, turn-of-the-century quilts and unique farm equipment.

Tractors, from old workhorses to antique, will be on display for all to enjoy, and you won't want to miss the always-popular Parade of Power and Big Guys Tractor Pull. There is also a kiddies tractor pull and tractor-pulled wagon rides around Pottsville.trac7

Other exhibits include saw milling, threshing and hay bailing, soap making, rug hooking, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, wood carving, gold panning, basket weaving, broom making and quilting by the Hugo Ladies Club.

Rounding out the fun for the entire family are food, booths, arts & crafts, live bluegrass music, face painting,  a petting zoo, plus pony and kiddy rides for the young ones.

gunshow1The Grant Pass Gun and Knife Show is a 2 day weekend gun gunshow2 show that is held four times a year, in February, June, October and December at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass, Oregon. These gun shows are organized by Collectors West. gunshow3 The Grant Pass Gun and Knife Show showcases a wide range of products and services related to the gun & knife enthusiast from the leading exhibitors offering guns that include shot guns, gunshow4 rifles and hand guns, as well as holsters, gun cases, gun parts, manuals, ammo, reloading equipment, modern and custom knives, gunshow5 military items, camouflage and hunting gear. All federal, state and local firearm ordinances and laws must be obeyed.

Every summer the Grants Pass Downs at the Josephine County Fairgrounds brings exciting horse racing, parimutuel betting and live music to the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. With nearly three-thousand racing fans converging on the Don Jackson Racing Facility daily during the summer racing season, the fun never stops at the second largest horse racing venue in all of Oregon.
