The Oregon Honey Festival Is The Place To Sample Honey, Mead, Chocolates And Cheese, Learn About Beekeeping And Have Fun For The Whole Family
Ashland, Oregon plays host to the annual Oregon Honey Festival, where guests get the unique opportunity to learn everything you'll need to know about raising bees and producing honey. Hear beekeepers explain how to start and maintain a backyard hive, obtain an initial colony and keep the bees healthy and happy.
This family friendly festival is more than just a chance to taste some great honey. Attendees can listen to expert speakers and beekeepers explain how bees are an important part of our ecosystem, and about conservation efforts being implemented for bee health because of dangers from several environmental issues, including disease and pesticide use.
Some of the activities that take place at the festival are honey tasting, sampling foods made with honey, bee arts and crafts, a kids zone where the little ones can have fun and learn the important role that bees play in our lives, and for anyone 21 and over a chance to try mead, a fermented (alcoholic) honey beverage. There will also be live music, some locally made chocolates and cheeses well as honey to purchase.
