A citywide museum celebration

The Jacksonville Chamber’s free celebration runs from 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Saturday, October 10, in the downtown National Historic Landmark District. The new History Center opens inside the restored 1881 Old City Hall, with a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m. before the main event.

The announced program includes live music at five venues, history tours, wine trolley tours, shopping and dining specials, and a free special-edition trolley circulating around town. The Jacksonville Review also lists a scavenger hunt, a shopping passport and prize drawings; check the organizer’s current schedule for participating stops and departure times.

Family stop at the fire station

Jacksonville Fire’s open house runs from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. with free food, children’s activities and fire-engine tours. The Chamber lists the main event address as California and 5th streets.
