Inside the Beekman House mourning tour

Historic Jacksonville stages the 1870s Beekman House as a Victorian home in mourning. One-hour guided tours start every 20 minutes from noon through 3 p.m. at 470 E California Street. The organizer caps each tour and encourages advance reservations; walk-ups are accepted only when space remains. Arrive five minutes before your reserved time.

The rooms include a coffin in the parlor, stopped clocks, draped mirrors and a mourning wreath. Guides also discuss 1890s mourning clothing, hair jewelry and memorial hair art. Admission is $10 per person.
