What the walk involves

Use the Lower trailhead for BLM's 2.8-mile round trip and about 809 feet of climbing to the plateau. An optional 1.5-mile round trip on top goes toward a south viewpoint; budget that distance separately. The nearby Oak Savannah interpretive walk is a separate base-area alternative, not a shortcut to the summit.

What makes this trail distinct

Interpretive signs and the plateau's outlook distinguish this route from Upper Table Rock. BLM estimates three to four hours and says the trail generally attracts fewer hikers than Upper. The climb is exposed, with no drinking water or dogs; stay on established tread near sensitive vernal pools and take care around cliff edges.

Access and preparation

Before you set out

Allow extra time for the climb. No dogs; protect the sensitive habitat.
