A park for your group's needs

Central Point opens city parks during daylight. Don Jones has play and sports facilities; its spray park normally runs from the Friday before Memorial Day to the Friday after Labor Day. Robert Pfaff offers shaded picnic areas downtown. Cascade Meadows has a tot swing. Check construction and facility notices before relying on a particular play feature.

Indoor museum hours differ from shop hours

Crater Rock Museum lists museum visits Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with entry stopping at 4 p.m. It also lists separate rock-yard hours. Adult museum admission is $7, students $5 and seniors/veterans $6; check the operator for current group and family pricing.

Table Rocks is a separate trail outing

Upper and Lower have separate trailheads and different climbs. Read the comparison before choosing. A quick picnic in Central Point and a summit hike require different amounts of time, water and preparation.

Check the places behind each plan

Idea 1

Play or walk at Don Jones Memorial Park

Choose the city park for walking paths, courts and play facilities. The spray park is seasonal, so do not promise water play during fall or winter.

Idea 2

Picnic downtown at Robert Pfaff Park

The city describes covered picnic areas and a shaded setting. This is a downtown alternative to building a day around a drive to the Table Rocks.

Idea 3

Explore Crater Rock Museum

See minerals, fossils and petrified wood indoors. Guided group tours require an appointment; choose a regular visit or contact the museum for the group experience.

Choose a dated recreation class

The city's Parks and Recreation department links to current registration. Select a specific class and check its age range, venue and registration rather than treating the office opening hours as a drop-in activity schedule.

Plan it simply

Choose the museum for an indoor outing, a town park for a short visit, or a Table Rocks trail for a longer commitment. Keep those three plans separate until you know your available time.
